In-Season Show SupportÂ
Get clear outside feedback on your show before the season ends
If your ensemble is close, but the full picture still is not reading the way you want, this is for you.
At this point in the season, most groups do not need more vague commentary. They need an experienced outside perspective that can help identify what is actually happening and what to adjust next.
That is the purpose of these reviews.
Â
Why I’m offering this
A lot of designers are not dealing with a lack of effort. They are dealing with a lack of clear, useful feedback.
You may be hearing comments like:
- “It’s too loud.”
- “The low end is too much.”
- “I can’t hear the main voice.”
- “The pit is overbalanced.”
- “It still isn’t reading correctly.”
The challenge is that comments like these do not always tell you why it is happening or what to change first.
These reviews are designed to help you make better decisions on the show you are working on right now, with the time you still have left this season.
Â
Why work with me
I focus on practical feedback you can actually use. My goal is to help you hear the biggest issues more clearly, prioritize the right fixes, and make stronger decisions without wasting time chasing the wrong thing.Â
I’ve spent more than 20 years designing in the marching arts and building successful programs across a wide range of ensembles. For the past 5+ years, I’ve also helped other designers develop their design and production skills in a hands-on, practical way. That means you’re not just getting feedback from someone who knows how to do the work. You’re getting feedback from someone who knows how to teach it clearly and help you apply it.
This is not about broad opinions. It is about identifying what is and is not translating, then helping you decide what to adjust next.
Â
Option 1: Season Support Review — $597Â
This is the best fit if you want ongoing support through the rest of the season.
We work week to week using your most recent runs, so you can keep refining as the season moves instead of relying on a single outside read.
What’s included:
- One review per week until the end of your season
- I'll generally get back to you within 24-48 hours during the week.
- Feedback on your current run video each week
- Notes on balance, clarity, proportion, orchestration, electronics, and overall read
- Guidance on what to adjust now vs. what to leave alone
- Ongoing outside perspective as the show evolves
- One post-season follow-up call to recap what improved, what stayed challenging, and how to prepare more intentionally for next season
- Dedicated portal where you can see all of our conversations and notes.
This option is best if you want support that builds over time. Instead of one snapshot, you get consistent feedback through the final stretch of the season.Â
Â
Option 2: Single Review Diagnostic — $150Â
This is the best fit if you want a focused outside read and clear next steps right away.Â
You send me a recent run, and I give you an experienced outside read on how the show is landing from the listener’s perspective.
I'll take a look for things like:
- BalanceÂ
- ClarityÂ
- ProportionÂ
- Electronics vs. acoustic ensembleÂ
- Low-end buildup and maskingÂ
- Harshness or listener fatigueÂ
- Orchestration readabilityÂ
- Overall impactÂ
You’ll receive:
- Clear notes (written and/or recorded) of what I’m hearing and seeing
- Priority action steps for what I would fix first
- You can send me back any clarifying questions and I'll be happy to answer.
This is not generic advice. It is a practical breakdown of what I see and hear in your show. And most importantly suggestions on what to try to fix it.
Â
Who this is for
This is a strong fit if:
- your ensemble is close, but you cannot find the next right adjustment
- judges are telling you something is off, but not telling you how to fix it
- your electronics, front ensemble, and battery all make sense on their own, but not together
- your low end feels muddy, stacked, or unclear
- the show changes dramatically from venue to venue
- you want another set of trained ears on what is reading and what is not
Â
Â
Which option makes sense?
Choose End-of-Season Support if you want ongoing partnership through the rest of the season. Instead of a single snapshot, you’ll get continued outside feedback as the show develops, along with help identifying the most important adjustments to make while there is still time to make them.
Choose the One-Time Video Review if you want one clear outside assessment and a practical set of next steps from your current run.
Why this matters now
We are near the end of the indoor season.
That means this is not about reinventing everything. It is about identifying the changes that can create the most improvement with the time you still have left.
A strong outside read can save a lot of unnecessary trial and error.
